N. Pazar: Racist insults and rioting during SuperLiga game

Immediately after the first whistle, the home side's fans began raising tensions with chants of "This is Turkey." Half an hour later, Red Star's fans started arriving in the stands - and it became clear then the day would not end without incidents.

The match was interrupted for 20 minutes in the second half after Novi Pazar's fans first shouted racist insults aimed at Red Star's Guelor Kanga as he was leaving the pitch, and then attacked the visiting side's bench.

Angered by a foul committed by Red Star's Predrag Simikic - that earned him a red card - against Novi Pazar's goalkeeper Mladen Zivkovic, the home side's fans started throwing chairs at Red Star's bench.

Zivkovic had to be taken off the pitch in an ambulance, while members of MUP's Gendarmerie unit intervened to secure the area around the bench.

The referee decided to resume the match despite one of assistants also getting hit by an object thrown from the stands.

Red Star won the game 4-1.
