Kasza was a politician, economist, and banker, who served as the mayor of Subotica, a town in northern Serbia, from 1989 until 2001. He then became deputy prime minister in the cabinets of Zoran Djindjic and Zoran Zivkovic.

After leaving politics, he was appointed as the director of the Agrobanka branch in Subotica.

Kasza was also the president of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians and was later made its honorary president. He could lately be seen in political gatherings of the "new Hungarian option," according to Tanjug.

Kasza was arrested in November 2012 in connection with the Agrobanka affair and was detained until February 2013, but was never indicted.

He became the editor-in-chief of the Suboticke Novine publication in July the same year, but stepped down in 2015 due to poor health.
