K. Albanian "sent U.S. military personnel data to IS"

Wednesday's court appearance was the first for Ferizi since he was arrested in Malaysia last October, and extradited to the U.S.

The agency reported he is believed to be the leader of a Kosovo "internet hacking group," and is suspected of "hacking the computer server of a U.S. online retailer, stealing the personal identification information of 1,351 U.S. military personnel."

The charges, quoted in the report, further s that Ferizi "provided the list to Islamic State members including the British hacker Junaid Hussain, who linked to the list in an August 11, 2015, tweet titled 'NEW: U.S. Military AND Government HACKED by the Islamic State Hacking Division!'."

Retuers said that an Albanian interpreter has been appointed ahead of his next court appearance on Friday, and that, if found guilty, Ferizi could face up to 35 years in jail.
