Lyon writes that the proposed referendum in the Serb entity (Republika Srpska, RS) on the work of the court and prosecution of Bosnia-Herzegovina is "a move that many see as a thinly veiled independence referendum."
"The only person with the legal authority to call off Dodik’s referendum, current High Representative Valentin Inzko, has sat on the sidelines at the insistence of both Washington and Brussels. In response to Dodik’s latest provocations, the EU has yet to formulate a response that would persuade him to cancel the referendum," the article said, and added:
"Some international officials think it is merely a bargaining chip and hope to deal with it, post facto, via the very judicial institutions Dodik plans to flout. Others hope Belgrade can be called upon to rein in Dodik, ignoring that Serbia’s deep state regards Republika Srpska as its greatest foreign-policy success. Indeed, Belgrade’s officialdom openly supports Dodik and hopes to receive Republika Srpska in return for giving up on Kosovo."
According to the Croatian daily, Dodik is described as "a nationalist who dedicated his whole career to tearing down the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina (Muslim-Croat entity), blocking reforms and strengthening RS's constitutional rights, for which he has the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin."
"The Russian ambassador to Bosnia, Pyotr Ivantsov, has stated that the referendum is an internal matter for the country and has expressed his sympathy toward Republika Srpska complaints over the state judiciary," said the article on the Foreign Policy website, and added that in July, "Russia vetoed a UN Security Council resolution that would have described the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of more than 8,000 Bosniaks at the hands of Bosnian Serbs as 'genocide'.”
"By backing Dodik, Putin is able to create substantial problems for the West without needing to invest resources or diplomatic energy," Lyon writes, adding that "this pattern should be familiar from Abkhazia in Georgia to Transnistria in Moldova to most recently Crimea and eastern Ukraine."
"The West must now prevent Russia from using Dodik’s nationalist agenda to destabilize the Balkans and create yet another proxy conflict," the article said.

How are they going to do that when the US is incapable of scratching its backside. These Washington buffoons are now trying to make a point over a few islands in the South China Sea by sending in a destroyer, but you have to read the small print to see what is going on. China claims 12 nautical miles from these man-made islands while the US ship is passing 30 nautical miles from these islands.
(sj, 27 October 2015 11:48)
I almost had a panic attack this morning when China said that the US threatened China's sovereignty and security when the USS Lassen illegally entered the waters of those man-made islands and called the US ambassador to protest
When I saw China saying that I panicked because I saw in front of my eyes the collapse in few hrs of the wonderful reality that the CE of B92 forums sj had so painstakingly and tiresely built for years. That would be a tragedy for the mankind. The US threatening China's sovereignty and security?!! That's impossible in the reality of the CE of B92 forums sj
But thanks God the CE of B92 forums sj saved the world again. It looks like China was just not able to correctly measure the USS Lassen's distance from the islands since the correct distance according to the CE of B92 forums sj was 30, not 12 so China's actions and statements today were much ado for nothing because of an incapability of measuring distances. Thanks God the reality built by the CE of B92 forums sj continues to be alive

It's just a matter of time before RS becomes independent and / or joins Serbia. The west doesn't like this, but this is the result of their failed policy of allowing certain ethnic groups, ie Croats, Bosniaks, Albanians & Slovenes to seek independence even it means breaking international law, while prohibiting Serbs the same right.
(njegos, 27 October 2015 12:43)
I don't care whether the west likes it or not, but that would be great news for Kosovo if that happens because it would remove the main obstacle to Kosovo's recognition by Bosnia. In addition, it would make Serbia happy and it's always great to have happy neighbours.

It's worth noting that while hundreds of thousands were being slaughtered in Rwanda and war was raging in Bosnia, Clinton's foreign policy priority was invading Haiti and restoring Aristide to power. Dodik and izetbegovic are clearly political opponents when it comes to Bosnia's partition, as izetbegovic insists on continuing his Muslim dominated part(ETHNIC CLEANSING) and Dodik has an already serb dominated RS through various ethnic cleansing such as (B POSAVINA,ALTHOUGH ETHNIC CLEANSING WAS COMMITTED ON ALL SIDES).While the croats have no say in this as the smallest ethnic group (but have been settled here possibly even before the serbs..both being the oldest ethnic groups by far)the croats are getting support from Dodik to be its own 3rd separate entity, along with the serbs and muslims.RS, HERCEG-BOSNA,AND central bosnia (muslims) is the only way i can see this country living in peace. Of course this wont be able to happen without another bloody war which will certainly happen through a RS referendum. only time will tell.

The US and their NATO allies have spent billions on the Balkans and it is clear that the policy has failed. Funny thing is, once RS is independent and / or joins Serbia, the Serbs will clearly be the big winners of the wars of the 90s. And remember, those were wars that the Serbs didn't want. Premature western recognition precipitated the mess.
It is also interesting that the pro-Serb movement in Montenegro is gaining steam against the corrupt gov't. of Djukanovic. Without the support of the Albanians there and abroad, which they clearly have lost, Milo's days are numbered. Things are getting interesting. Stay tuned.

That is essence of this argument – Dodik has the full support of Putin and the west can’t lift a finger against him. Russia has shown that it’s the power to deal with, just look at the middle east where it’s calling the shots in Syria not the United States of Piss and Wind. Russia is bombing the crap out of western supported insurgents against Assad and the US is just looking on.
Does anyone believe for a moment that the EU High Representative Valentin Inzko would just sit on the side lines if the west could do something? No they would take action and try and remove Dodik, but they can’t.

The west continues to mess up in any country they deem of interest at the cost of civilian lives and in the most evil manner then duplicitously cry their actions are "humanitarian" or bring "democracy".
The west can't have it both ways - their illegal recognition of Serbia's UN recognised province backfired and now they look elsewhere to destabilise and cover up their mess!

I don't care whether the west likes it or not, but that would be great news for Kosovo if that happens because it would remove the main obstacle to Kosovo's recognition by Bosnia. In addition, it would make Serbia happy and it's always great to have happy neighbours.

P.S. CE = Chief Economist

Unfortunately, the most patriotic of Serbs disagree with you since according to them America causes/controls everything that happens in the world, from UNESCO's votes to what happens in the Middle East!!!
