Horgos border crossing closed on Hungarian side

Traffic on the border crossing of Horgos between Serbia and Hungary was closed on Tuesday morning on the Hungarian side.

Horgos border crossing closed on Hungarian side

Passenger vehicles can use Backi Vinogradi, Sot, and Djala from 07:00 until 19:00 hours CET, the AMSS said.

Hungarian authorities shut down the M5 highway leading from Horgos to Budapest late on Monday after several hundred refugees started moving on foot toward the capital city.

A group of them in the meantime accepted to return to the Roszke reception center in buses so M5 has been reopened.

Due to modernization works on the Croatian side at the Sid border crossing with Croatia, traffic will be slowed down in both directions starting on September 7 and for the next six months.

According to the Serbian Border Police, passenger vehicles wait "in intervals up to 30 minutes" at border crossings this Tuesday.
