PM, WB official "agree on need to continue privatizations"

Vucic and Frieden "agreed that the privatization process in Serbia needs to continue as it constitutes the main condition for establishment of a healthy economy," the Serbian government said in a statement.

In the talks, Vucic and Frieden "attached special attention to the search for a solution to the problem of 17 protected companies burdened with numerous debts to creditors and the ways to preserve jobs and employees' rights in the process."

The talks also covered a project of support to the early childhood education envisaged in the new five-year WB strategy for Serbia.

The project will be for one part funded from the Novak Djokovic Foundation, while the other part of the funds would be ensured through WB loans, states the release.
