The Serbian prime minister noted that political relations between the two countries are very close, and there is willingness to deepen them even further in all fields of mutual interest, especially in the field of economy, the government's media relations office said.

Varso said he is glad he had an opportunity to cooperate with the Vucic-led government, whose moves enjoy unequivocal support from the Slovak government.

He pointed to his country's continued backing for Serbia's EU integration, reflected in the establishment of the Western Balkans Fund.

Slovakia is planning to use this fund, together with other members of the Visegrad Four (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia) for improving the quality of life of all citizens of the Western Balkans.

In the meeting with Prime Minister Vucic, Varso voiced the hope that Slovak experts in the management of Smederevo-based steel mill Zelezara Smederevo would succeed in reviving the production and contributing to Serbia's economic growth.
