Djuric denies Kosovo to get "calling code by end of year"

"By spreading untruths, Pristina is trying to provoke an interruption of the dialogue with Belgrade," Djuric told reporters in Brussels where the technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina on the constitution of the Community of Serb municipalities was taking place on Tuesday.

He noted that during the talks on telecommunications on Monday, the Pristina delegation "mentioned the participation of Austria in the sending of a certain letter of intent to the International Telecommunication Union."

Nevertheless, Kosovo and Metohija cannot get an international call number without Serbia's consent according to the rules of the International Telecommunication Union, Djuric noted.

The International Telecommunication Union does not recognize Kosovo as a separate entity outside Serbia, Djuric said.

"In case an agreement was reached about an international number for Kosovo, it could exclusively be owned by Serbia," Djuric said and noted that the delegations only achieved a convergence of stands concerning the local call tariff on Monday.
