Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic held a regular meeting Tuesday, Tanjug has reported.

PM and ombudsman hold "regular meeting"

One of the priorities discussed was improving the work of the Tax Administration and the health and pension fund in order to effectively control the payment of legally stipulated contributions for health and pension insurance of workers, the Office of the Ombudsman said.

Vucic and Jankovic agree that the competent state authorities and funds have to effectively control payments, exchange information and submit complaints against employers.

The protector of citizens and the prime minister also touched on the situation concerning people in southern Serbia and agreed to resolve a number of issues of importance to their daily lives and harmonious interethnic relations.

They also agree that Serbia should make more effort, together with the international community, in dealing with the current wave of migrants, with full respect for their rights, and the rights and interests of the local population.

The protectors of citizens will offer to the government a model for cooperation to resolve the issue.
