Relations with Montenegro "better than in past"

In an interview for the Podgorica-based daily Pobjeda, Dacic said that all issues from the Serbia-Montenegro relations need to be discussed in a friendly, practical and open manner.

Speaking about open issues in the two countries' relations, Dacic noted that the issue of a direct payment system should be solved and noted that it is difficult to find a compromise solution concerning dual citizenship because Montenegro is not open to the option.

Here we have Serbia wishing for dual citizenships to be introduced, but Montenegro is not open to such a step, Dacic said and expressed the belief that a compromise solution can hardly be found since the two sides have very different stands on the matter.

As for the system of payments, the Serbian foreign minister noted that the topic has been subject of talks for years now and expressed the belief that the issues should be tackled because all sides are losing substantial funds by paying commission to various commercial banks instead of having the payments regulated in a direct manner.
