IMF pleased with "structural, macroeconomic measures"

He spoke after a session at the National Bank of Serbia, which marked the beginning of the official talks between the Serbian government and the IMF as part of the first review of the three-year stand-by arrangement.

The Serbian government has said that the budget deficit stands at RSD 21 billion for the first four months of 2015, instead of the planned RSD 71 billion.

“They have said that it is very good news, even without the so-called one-off budget inflows. We made a very good start, the rest is the thing of the future, so we have to keep on with that by the year's end,” Vujovic said.

The main topics that the first review will address are the state of Serbia's public finances, restructuring of public enterprises, cuts in the number of public sector employees and privatization.
