Belgrade resident arrested in Pristina in 30-day custody

Head of the Pristina court of first instance Hamdi Ibrahimi told Tanjug on Saturday Gavric "confessed to the second crime, but stated that he had intended to sell the explosives and denied the first crime."

The Albanian language daily Express from Pristina says Gavric stated "he meant to send the explosives to his business connections in Albania who owned some mines and needed explosives, and that he had only been driving through Kosovo."

The maximum sentence for these two crimes is 20 years in prison.

The Serbian police are checking all the information about the Serbian citizen arrested in Pristina on Friday for possession of explosives, Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said at his year-end news conference on Saturday.

"Our police are doing their job. We have some theories about who, what, how and for whom that was done," he answered when asked if it was true that the arrested man was an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture, adding that he would notify the public about the result of the investigation.

Interior Ministry Nebojsa Stefanovic commented on Friday on the arrest by saying that the Serbian Interior Ministry was working with EULEX, and that a search warrant for the man's apartment in Belgrade had been issued.
