BELGRADE The Serbian dinar (RSD) will stagnate against the euro on Tuesday for the eighth day thanks to the Monday intervention of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS). The central bank purchased EUR 20 million on the inter-bank foreign exchange market on Monday, "to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate." Since the beginning of the year, the central bank purchased EUR 395 million on the inter-bank foreign exchange market and it sold EUR 425 million. The national currency grew stronger against the euro by 0.1 percent on the monthly level and it dropped by 1.4 percent on the annual level. The indicative exchange rate of the dinar against the U.S. dollar dropped on Monday by 0.3 percent and totals RSD 84.4410. The official middle exchange rate against the euro (EUR) today stands at RSD 114.0544.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank purchased EUR 395 million on the inter-bank foreign exchange market and it sold EUR 425 million.

The national currency grew stronger against the euro by 0.1 percent on the monthly level and it dropped by 1.4 percent on the annual level.

The indicative exchange rate of the dinar against the U.S. dollar dropped on Monday by 0.3 percent and totals RSD 84.4410.

The dinar dropped against the dollar by 2.2 percent on the monthly level, but it is by 2.8 percent stronger than it was a year ago.
