BELGRADE A 35-year-old man was shot several times at 07:05 CET on Monday morning in Belgrade's central Carice Milice St. The man died in the hospital, where he was transported with wounds to his head, chest, stomach, and one arm. Man shot dead in downtown Belgrade Passers-by this morning witnessed the shooting, and according to reports, ran to take shelter in nearby buildings and stores. Reporters learned unofficially that some 15 bullets have been fired. RTS is reporting that the attacker "approached the victim from behind, fired a bullet to the back of his head, and then several more while he was lying on the ground." The identity of the victim has not been revealed, while the police (MUP) said that he had no personal documents at the time of the death. However, B92 has learned unofficially that the victim is Nikola Bojovic, the brother of one of the Zemun Clan crime gang leaders Luka Bojovic. Bojovic is currently in prison in Spain awaiting extradition to Serbia, where he suspected of committing several murders and attempted murders. PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic later confirmed that the victim was Nikola Bojovic, and said that he was "previously known to the police."
