The statement came after Syrian opposition leader Moaz al-Khatib, taking part in the Arab League summit, urged the United States to increase their efforts to end the two-year conflict in Syria.
Al-Khatib said that he asked U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for northern parts of Syria, which are controlled by the rebels, to be protected from government warplanes with the Patriot missile system.
The missile batteries are located in Turkey where they were deployed last year by the U.S., Germany and the Netherlands, in order to protect Turkish cities from potential attacks from Syria.
The Syrian opposition today, at the opening of the Arab League summit in Doha, took place of official Damascus, whose membership in this organization has been suspended two years ago.
The Qatari emir, who strongly supports the initiative of Western and regional powers to oust Bashar al-Assad from power, urged the UN Security Council to halt the bloodshed in Syria and bring those responsible to justice.
The war in Syria has divided the world powers and paralyzed the Security Council, and has led to divisions in the Arab world as well. Saudi Arabia and Qatar are the loudest opponents of Assad, while Iraq, Lebanon and Algeria oppose his removal from power.

You can count Australia and New Zealand in that as well and there are many in both countries that see Afghanistan and Iraq total failures and in both cases NATO/US try and “prepare the locals to take over” so they can leave looking like their mission was accomplished. The reality is all they do is cut and run.
NATO is leaving with its tail between its legs and that includes Australia and New Zealand. Our silly federal governments tried the US trick of silencing critism through “you must support the troops at any cost” but it failed.

What? Surely my eyes deceive me? NATO not intervening in Syria? You know, NATO the mighty that is about to pack up and leave Afghanistan with its tail between its legs and about one week later the Taliban will take over with that western appointed el president Kazai running for his life.
Surely this cant be true that NATO, the only military might on earth sitting on the side lines??
The reality is that after the Afghan debacle the US couldn’t raise an angry scout group from NATO countries let alone attack Syria. Ahhhh, the united states of windbags does it again. They can arm the insurgents as much as they like but without air power these ratbags are being led like sheep to the slaughterhouse.

Don't forget all the non-NATO countries which are part of the International Security Assistance Force, most notably Australia which will also be running away from Afghanistan "with its tail between its legs".

It's like calling an arsonist to become a fire fighter in order to extinguish his own fire.Freedom and democracy are words that don't exist in Natos and Islamists vocabulary. In fact the US and Nato are directly behind the proliferation of Islamic Wahabi terrorism worldwide together with their Qatari -Saudi fascist-monarchist and Turkish Islamist proxies. They don't give a crap how many Syrians die, they would happily see all of them murdered if that meant them getting their bought and paid for regime change.
However, their evil dreams remain in tatters Assad has already taken most of Alleppo back and now has taken over the Baba Amr.

Sooner or later he will regain control of Syria and Syrians can go back home and help rebuild their nation that was attacked by these so called Arab league countries.
