LJUBLJANA The Slovenian parliament ousted PM Janez Jansa government after a no-confidence vote on Wednesday and supported Alenka Bratusek for new PM-designate. 55 MPs voted for the dismissal of the government while 30 were against. Slovenian government falls in no-confidence vote Bratusek, who is an acting leader of the opposition Positive Slovenia (PS) party, is the first female PM-designate in Slovenia. However, there are certain doubts that she will be able to form a new government. The new PM-designate has two weeks to form the cabinet that parliament will have to support.If she fails to secure coalition partners, President Borut Pahor could call early elections. B92 has learnt that Bratusek was named the PM-designate so early elections could take place. According to media, her program is still unknown but she promised that Slovenia would not “meet Greece’s fate”. Jansa steadfastly refused to resign after the Anti-Corruption Commission issued a report in January, showing he had withheld his financial records, so three parties left the ruling coalition.
