Sweden to help promote gender equality in Serbia
Serbian and Swedish officials have said that they will continue their cooperation in improving the position of women and promoting gender equality in Serbia.

BELGRADE Serbian and Swedish officials have said that they will continue their cooperation in improving the position of women and promoting gender equality in Serbia. This was announced after a meeting between Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Policy Jovan Krkobabic and Swedish Ambassador to Serbia Christer Asp. Sweden to help promote gender equality in Serbia Krkobabic and Asp talked about the problems in this field and also touched on the development projects funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, according to a release from the ministry. Krkobabic stressed that the line ministry had started resolving gender equality issues, which were given an exceptional priority, in a well thought out, practical manner. He said that Sweden had helped Serbia a lot - not just by offering well-meaning advice and suggestions from its great experience in this field, but also by providing direct financial support for the implementation of various projects. Ambassador Asp expressed Sweden's readiness for further cooperation and assistance to Serbia in the implementation of a three-year project developed under the National Action Plan with the aim of improving the position of women and advancing gender equality.
