1. Its shows the low level of Serbia to have a new day-off for WWI. And what is with the victims of Jasenovac and the Russian soldiers fighting for the liberation, not to speak about the vistims of the NATO-bombings. It looks that Serbs and Albanians will celebrate in the future a common day for all the crimes from both sides. And the reactions of some people here are showing that Serbia needs a re-education. I dont use the term which was used by politicains some years ago "entnazifizierung", but a liitle truth is there...the way of thinking is often years behind the deepest provice in Afghanistan. So Serbia needs for two generations a supervision how it is today.

You mean like the US, Canada, France and Belgium. It seems like commies aint able to manipulate history where they dress as the only heroes, thus need to be destructive. Respect is a two way street you will learn it with age.

  4. Mary, you do realise Chetniks march all over the world every WWII commemoration day? They've been marching here in Australia every year since WWII ended. I've only ever heard Albanians, Croatians and Bosnians call Chetniks anything other than heroes - amusingly, all these countries fought with the Nazis in WWII.

What on earth are you rambling on about?
Nov 11th, (Armistice Day) is a sombre reminder of the sacrifices made by a countries military.
It is not a celebration, (even though the article quoted such) I am sure it was not meant to be interpreted as such.
The day itself is one of remembrance; respect that and also the essence of the article. This is not a subject for criticism and squabbles.

‘’They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them.’’

    ...….. I salute them all

  6. Its Serbis way back...what comes next? Cetnik celebration day? This are very dangerous signals. It could be that this day was introduced with Western support to ignore the tradions of the YU-partisans. It is interesting that in countries like Serbia, Albania etc the terribel history comes back with highest support. You can see within the EU that the Western countries are faced more and more by steps from thefomer socialist countries with the only reason to develop steps of hate and nationlism.
