KOSOVSKA MITROVICA Unknown persons threw a bomb in the front yard of Bojan Jakovljevic’s family home in Leposavic early on Thursday. Jakovljevic is a member of Leposavic Municipal Council and a head of Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) town board. New bomb attack on house of Kosovo Serb Jakovljevic’s car was damaged in the blast and windows on the house were broken. He told Beta news agency that he did not know what the motive for the attack was but stressed that he was not afraid. “We will not react to provocations, we are not scared and we are going to take all measures in order to prevent all kinds of violence in northern Kosovo and Metohija, which is organized,” Jakovljevic noted and called on KFOR, EULEX and Serbia to find and punish the perpetrators. According to him, the “ultimate goal of those who are trying to destabilize the situation in the north is to expel the Serbian and other non-Albanian population”. Kosovska Mitrovica District Head Radenko Nedeljkovic has condemned the attack and assessed that it was a part of a coordinated operation aimed at destabilizing northern Kosovo, causing chaos and divisions among citizens so the north could be easily integrated in the Kosovo system. He requested a comprehensive investigation “because this is the only way to avoid politicization of this and previous incidents”. This is the third attack in the last two days in Kosovo. A hand grenade was thrown at Kosovska Mitrovica Health Center Director Milan Jakovljevic’s house in Zvecan on Tuesday night and a bomb was planted under Kosovo police member Radovan Jovanovic’s car in Leposavic.
