BELGRADE There are no secret Kosovo-related preconditions for Serbia's further movement towards the European Union, says Suzana Grubjesic. This deputy prime minister in charge of the EU integration also told Belgrade's Vecernje Novosti daily that "state officials will soon say the truth about concrete issues which were agreed on in Brussels". Minister says EU has "no secret conditions" for Serbia “Serbia has no hidden or secret Kosovo-related preconditions which should be fulfilled for the continuation of the EU pathway. We will pursue a clean and open policy in relation to Brussels which will be familiar to all our citizens. We will not give up either on Europe, or the country's territorial integrity,” she said in an interview for the newspaper, published on Tuesday. In order for the report of the European Commission (EC) to be as favorable as possible, Serbia should start to implement the agreements reached between the previous government and Pristina, continue fight against corruption and crime, and make steps in the justice system reform, she said. “We have to show right away that we have a clear intention to accelerate the EU integration process,” Grubjesic underlined. When asked about the implementation of the agreements regarding Kosovo, which Belgrade, Brussels and Pristina interpret differently, she responded: "The state leaders will state the truth soon - what exactly was agreed in Brussels. It is certain that we will from now on speak the same things in front of foreign officials and the Serbian public," she noted. Grubjesic commented on the danger of indirectly recognizing Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence by implementing the agreements by saying it would be irresponsible if the new government rejected the agreements the previous one had made. "Of course, we are going to implement the agreements in a way that does not violate the Serbian Constitution and Resolution 1244. Those are the boundaries we cannot and will not cross, neither in implementing the agreements nor in the talks to come," she asserted. According to Grubjesic, the talks with Pristina should soon be resumed on the political level, and the negotiators and the format of the talks will be set by the Serbian government in coordination with Brussels.
