1. So once Serbs leave barricades what happens next?
Possession is 9/10 of the law and this has served Albanians very well so far. Once NATO dismantles the barricades do you honestly trust that they will not bring Albanians there?
    (Peggy, 1 December 2011 07:16)

Bring Albanians at the barricades ? And what will Albanians do there ? Play with the logs in them middle of the winter ?

Dear Peggy, playing with logs in the roads in the middle of the winter may be an addictive game for some people, but don't expect Albanians to be addicted to it, as well.

  2. This is so humiliating for Tadic.. he got pushed into a corner which he can't fight his way out from..

He must know something that the general Serb Public people dont know about.. I suppose If you can't defend your people from an outside force, e.g Serbs in Kosovo.. then yeah Kosovo is no longer apart of Serbia..

But what price will Serbia pay? first Kosovo, then Republika Srpska will be governed by Itzebegovic's son.. then god knows what??

What would Tadic do if say a foriegn force entered Serbia proper?

hmm the Serbs shouldn't relly blame Tadic.. its the Serb people that are too blame..

If you care about Kosovo and the Serbs there then do something about it.. instead of blaming it on Tadic..

  4. It does not matter wat Serbia does.
If Serbia is supporting its citizens in Kosovo then Serbia is interfering in Kosovo's "internal" affairs. If Serbia is telling its citizens to keep calm and not demonstrate they are told by the EU and Germany that it is Serbia's fault that people are demonstrating and that Belgrade should use its powers in South Serbia/North Kosovo. What powers, they were taken away from Serbia by the EU and Germany.

Germany and the EU just want you to keep quiet and give the Albanians total control and the longer you wait and the more you try to negotiate with unwilling Albanians the happier EU and Germany will be.
They do not care for Serbs especially not Serbs outside Belgrade in Kosovo, in Croatia, in Montenegro and in Bosnia.

Belgrade should support its citizens. They need you not the EU!!

  6. @ Nenad

"Demand that Tadic lead the best possible negotiating effort, but don't pillory him for turning his back on a rag tag group of protesters who can do nothing to reclaim what Milosevic lost 12 years ago."

Tadic effectively turned his back on Kosovo when he agreed to recognize EULEX, where Serbia has no friends, over UNMIK which is answerable to the UN.
What kind of 'best possible' negotiating effort can the rag tag Serbs of northern Kosovo expect after that?
Tadic would sell them out for a yellow button.

Milosevic didn't lose Kosovo because he sold it, he lost it because it was severed from Serbia at gunpoint by the member countries of EULEX after the decades long appeasement of Albanian terror by politically correct Serbian bureaucrats and 'intellectuals'.

Would those same bureaucrats and 'intellectuals' now be prepared to house swap with the rag tags, as you call them, and live in the brotherly utopia they allowed to happen?

    Probably not.
It would be too far to commute to workplaces like The Centre For Cultural Decontamination, and too far away from real Serbia, a mall called Knez Mihajlova.

  9. Because Tadic has never defended Serbia's interests, his comments are neither heeded nor respectable. He has no credibility with anyone. Even if Serbs listened to his whining and dismantled their protective barriers, the EU is never going to take Tadic seriously. He is an endless appeaser without allies.

I understand Tadic is walking a fine line. But I also know that if he appears weak the pressure from NATO and the EU will only increase. I don't know the context of this statement but if Tadic did not have also some tough message for NATO he missed the point.

  12. What kind of Idiocy is this - ? -

BELGRADE -- Serbian President Boris Tadić stated on Wednesday that Serbian national interests in Kosovo could not be defended at the barricades.

    Comment -

It is not the Mission of the Kosovo Serbs to defend Serbias National Interests, their Mission is to Protect themselves.
Serbias National interests is to be Protected by the President and Government of Serbia, however,
the Serbian President and Governments first Mission is to Protect their own People.

    Further -

He warned that any potential victim on the barricades would drastically reduce Serbia's potential for defending its legitimate national interests.

    Comment - As above !.

    Further -

Replying to remarks by certain political circles in Serbia who claim that he himself initiated the construction of the barricades, Tadić said that this was not true because he backed peaceful protests but he did not at any time even hint that he supported any use of force.

    Comment -

Barricades in not use of any Hostile active Force, but only Protective in a Passive Manner.

    Conclusion -

Mr Tadic seems to be caught in his failing policy of EU membership aspiration.
He is a loooser for sure.

    Undercover MUP troops???

I don't know where you read that rubbish, I wish there were Serbian MUP units in Kosovo but there arn't. Use your brain, Tadic has never supported the Kosovo Serbs, as if he would ever have sent in any MUP units, come on.

  14. All these protesters are doing is creating a headache for the troops who have to deal with them. Nothing more. Resolution will either occur at the negotiating table or on the battle field.

The question is, which side has more leverage in either space? Will it be the Albanians backed by the West? Or Serbs by the East? Or will we ever even know? Perhaps Kosovo will remain unresolved for many years to come, just like Taiwan, Tibet, S. Ossetia, Kashmir, Nagorno Karabakh...

Albanians look to America and the EU, but the Americans and Europeans have their hands full.

Serbs look to Russia and China and feel that the time has finally come when these countries will truly step up and fight for their cause, but as neither seems to treat its own people very well, I'm a bit reluctant to believe that they'd make it a top priority to defend Serbian "sovereignty" over Kosovo.

People are quick to attack Tadic on this issue, but I think it's fair to say that he's made a solid attempt to resolve matters diplomatically over the past few years. Perhaps there are still some opportunities to be found on that front, perhaps not. At any rate, he should continue to do all that he can to settle matters that way. If, in the end, diplomacy should prove a dead end in terms of bringing Kosovo back into the fold in whole or in part, there would be two remaining options: walk away or invade.

Demand that Tadic lead the best possible negotiating effort, but don't pillory him for turning his back on a rag tag group of protesters who can do nothing to reclaim what Milosevic lost 12 years ago.

  17. Serbia's interests are being defended as we speak, where those brave Serbs stand in the faces of a stronger and armed enemy. So what do you suggest Mr Tadic, retreat and wait? Wait for you to do absolutely nothing?

You do not know what Serbia's interests are, or rather you do but don't care, all you care for is your own back side. Those brave warriors at the barricades won't listen to you, they have known for a long time that you don't have their interests at heart. Also I have no clue why you chose to go to Republika Srpska to say this nonsense, they who have defended their sovereignty from the Muslims and Croats are not going to agree with you. They know what it means to defend their land, and they are behind their brothers in Kosovo.

The Serbs in Kosova have already surrendered. Tadic's message is for the undercover MUP troops that he has been imbedded in the North. Now that Serbia down and out and is being pressured by the EU, Tadic has no choice but to call off his dogs.

  18. Tadic and his government are liars. There is no EU and Kosovo! It's either Kosovo or maybe the EU in 30 years or so. If Serbia recognizes Kosovo its a done deal. And it doesn't guarantee anything. We already betrayed Mladic and Hadzic. Now we will betray our faith and our own people in Kosovo, for what? Look at Montenegro who stabbed their own brothers and sisters in the back. They were promised a fast track to the European union, what did they get? Belgrade is behaving like a street dog. Every time you roll over you expect to get a big juicy bone by EU leaders but all you get is tasteless bits of candy. Tadic and co have brought nothing but poverty and shame to Serbia and the Serbian people.
    They need to be replaced!
