The witness, introduced under the pseudonym of 81, stated on Tuesday that Haradinaj interrogated a young Serb man about the locations of "Serbian tanks and checkpoints", but when he received no answer, he punched the prisoner several times.
"He might have been upset because the prisoner was not responding. Two Roma were also there, begging Haradinaj in Albanian not to kill them. Others beat them with baseball bats. They cut off one of the Roma's ears and shortly after one of the Serb's ears as well," the witness said in Serbian.
After 45 minutes of beating and torture, the prisoners were unable to stand on their feet or talk and Haradinaj then ordered their execution, the witness stated.
According to the indictment, the three victims were from the village of Dolac. The Serb was 24-year-old Ivan Zarić, while the two Roma were identified as Agron Berisha and Burim Bejta - aged 15 and 16.
Witness 81 also said he arrived at the KLA headquarters in Jablanica in 1998 and witnessed torture at the camp commanded by Lahi Brahimaj.
Brahimaj, Haradinaj and Idriz Balaj stand accused of crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war in Kosovo in 1998 - a year before the war broke out.
Haradinaj and Balaj were released after their original trial, while Brahimaj received a 6-year sentence.
The appeals chamber ordered a retrial on 37 counts of the indictment, for reasons of witness intimidation in the orginal process. This is the first retrial in the history of the UN war crimes court.
Agim Kelmendi said, "Not only Milosevic, but the entire Serb nation should be held responsible for crimes committed in former Yugo."
... with this warped and primitive way of thinking then I am responsible for all of the deaths in Afghanistan and around the world that happened as a result of United States' policies.
Your idea of collective guilt is ridiculous.
(Roger7, 23 November 2011 18:04)
Thanks for commenting on this Roger. I agree. Serbia has suffered more from collective blame than from any true guilt. In the US, we punish individuals not classes of people. Indeed only the uneducated try to blame everyone for the crimes of a few. We see this with race relations where some lower socioeconomic status White Americans blame all Black Americans for the crimes of a few. This collective blame must stop. I understand that in Albania blood feuds are common but Agim, you and other must transcend that. Milosevic, Mladic, and others have been accused and are either in prison or have died captives. That is where it ends. In fact, a whole new generation of individuals (Serbs and Albanians) have been born since the 1990's and these individuals have absolutely no guilt on their hands for the crimes of others. Think about it. If Haradinaj is guilty, does that mean so is your son or daughter? Of course not.

"Milosevic and Mladic defended their people and their land. Just each of them had different opinion concerning what their land was. Actually there were wars over disputed territories."
(aaayyy, 23 November 2011 17:17)
Yeah, but all of them shared the opinion that 'defending' shall include committing war crimes against civilians of other ethnicity and/or political opponents
(Comm. Parrisson, 23 November 2011 19:51)
Unfortunately you are right.

Well, the only criminals in your comment are Milosevic and Mladic. They attacked other countrys. Gotovina and Haradinaj only protected their people and their homeland.

LOL it figures you'd say something like that. Haradinaj is a piece of trash who deserves to rot in prison and the sooner people like him and Thaci are dead the better for the Balkans.

He will get slap on hand or serve like those in Croatia. Leaving in hotel like place, weekend and holidays home, got married and have children. You call that punishment. Don't expect anything different here.

Yes, Haradinaj deserves a statue in Pristina! There should be a Milosevic statue in Belgrade, a Gotovina statue in Zagreb, and a Mladic statue in Sarajevo, to honor these great heroes and defenders for their glorious deeds and politics

It never surprises me these days when you jump to defend your beloved child rapist heroes, maybe you should concentrate on your car washing career. The evidence is clear now and he should go down for some time, however we all know how horrible one sided the hague is so I wouldn't expect much.

You are not going anywhere this time! I can't wait to see that guy get what he deserves! Feed him to those families that lost their loved ones to that peace of s..t!...was thinking quick death....but on the other hand.....make him die of a slow death...that's more appropriate for Haradinaj....
