Lake Zvornik cleaned up
4.5 kilometers of the Lake Zvornik shore in western Serbia have been cleaned after a three-day campaign.

4.5 kilometers of the Lake Zvornik shore in western Serbia have been cleaned after a three-day campaign. The cleaning started at the initiative of the ABS Minel Fund and the Fishing Society Drinsko Jezero. Lake Zvornik cleaned up 85 cubic meters of PET bottles and 25 cubic meters of various non-organic, non-recyclable waste have been taken out from the lake. The half-pressed PET bottles were transported to the Recycling Center in the town of Loznica, while the non-organic waste was transported to the town’s sanitary landfill. 14 workers and several volunteers with four boats, a truck, a van, a car and a garbage truck owned by the Public Enterprise Drina participated in the campaign which started on April 22 - Earth Day. Poor weather interrupted the cleaning during the weekend. The campaign was supported by municipality of Mali Zvornik and ABS Minel Fond. (Beta)
