Striking committee leader Svetozar Bojanic says that this form of protest has been ongoing for the past two months, and that the workers sought help from Kragujevac Mayor Veroljub Stevanovic. Although the meeting with Stevnovic was said to have turned into "a fierce debate", the mayor supported the strikers. "We will organized a meeting where police will be present, meaning corporate crime [police], and the Privatization Agency representatives, as well as people from a court, another court, and the Tax Administration, the Health Fund," Stevanovic was quoted as saying. The Kragujevac mayor also said that this meeting can be expected next week, "on Tuesday or Thursday".
