It was a day of mixed fortunes for Serbia's tennis stars at the Australian Open, with three victories and two defeats. On the plus side, men's world no. 3 Novak Djokovic overcame Frenchman Jeremie Chardy in straight sets, Jelena Jankovic defeated Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens 2:0 (6:3, 6:2), and Ana Ivanovic also scored a straight sets win over Italian Alberta Brianti.
