Water polo player Danilo Ikadinovic has been involved in a serious road accident on the Zrenjanin-Novi Sad road last night. After spending several hours in surgery this morning, doctors say his condition is now stable, but still life threatening. According to early reports, the accident occurred as Ikadinovic’s motorbike was overtaking a tractor that was towing a gas tank. Meantime, the Novi Sad police (MUP) have announced that the cause of the accident was speeding. Ikadinovic drove his Yamaha at excessive speed when he hit the back of a Zastava Coral, that was travelling in the same direction, also overtaking the tractor, MUP said. The force of the impact is reported to have sent Ikadinovic flying off the road, while the Zastava collided with the tank, leaving the driver with minor injuries.
