1. My take on this article:

    1. Fiat is primarily in Serbia out of self-interest. It wants to take advantage of the lower wages in Serbia not possible in Italy.

    2. The EU bestowed on Serbia a favor with all those food quotas??? Are you sure? With skyrocketing food prices around the globe, I would read the terms of the quotas very carefully if I were a Serbian citizen. It could mean commiting to sell your food to EU for lower prices than what you could have earned from the world market! The EU are neither saints nor business fools!

  2. Tadic and Delic are looking very grim on that photo. You'd expect them to be jumping with joy having carried out one of the major policy acts in Serbia in recent years, but maybe they know what will be waiting for them on May 11...

  3. "The SAA fully respected Serbia’s territorial integrity, as guaranteed by article 135 of the agreement, he stressed."
"I wold like you to explain me how, Mr Djelic. Art 135 states:
This Agreement shall apply, on the one hand, to the territories in which the Treaties establishing the European Community and the European Atomic Energy Community are applied and under the conditions laid down in those Treaties, and to the territory of Serbia on the other.
The Agreement shall not apply in Kosovo which is at present under international administration pursuant to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 10 June 1999. This is without prejudice to the current status of Kosovo or the determination of its final status under the same Resolution."
I don't see where's your point Mr Djelic

  4. Lavron is right. SSA should have been signed earlier.
By the way these words come from Serbia's friend.

  6. that the signing of the SAA was an act of supreme patriotism. -

It was a act of Judas...
Only if Kosovo is returned to Serbia (in the books of EU), will an entry into EU be considered patriotic.

EU entry as it is,is a painful and never gainful idea!

  8. In normal circumstances signing a deal with EU would be welcomed by all citizens of Serbia.Unfortunately, past behaviour of EU doesn't warrant unfound optimism many Serb share about this worthless piece of paper. In all honesty,I simply don't trust EU intensions.Four years,Mr.Djelic, give me a break!
    (judas priest, 30 April 2008 20:01)
  9. Mr.Djelic don`t worry for Serbia membership with EU, worry about Kosovo! You are a French citizen...and you deserve it.
    (Teophile, 30 April 2008 19:57)
  10. well, that photograph says it all...

look on the faces of Tadic and Djelic...they do not look like winners....

may 11th will show us how the story continues...

  11. learn a new song, bozo!

    this one is just boring!

stop it, like the isolation-nonsense-talk that ds pretty fast stopped.

  12. Sorry mr. Delic, but 4 years is wayyyy too optimistic. 6 years is an optimistic estimate, 8 years is realistic.

  13. Serbia, choose an easterly path, from an EU rep in Kosovo, all is not what it seems, and those two puppets who signed a document are clueless.

They are just couriers delivering serbia to its final place at the bottom of a capitalistic pile, wrapped in red tape.
    (Frank, 30 April 2008 17:38)
  14. So the DS have returned with a bag full of fresh carrots straight from Solana's garden.

I'm sure there are some hungry rabbits out there but I'm also sure the Serbian people will see straight through these people and their attempt to cover up the sale of Serbia.

Exports come with demand and supply so if there is a demand and Serbia can supply then a deal is done regardless of whether the SAA is signed or not.

Until Mladic is handed over, the SAA is meaningless so all this talked about potential coming from the DS is just a lot of hot air intended to last only until the elections.
