VIENNA, BELGRADE The UN Kosovo envoy will likely participate in the April 3 Security Council meeting in New York. Ahtisaari’s spokesman Remi Dourlot said that “the format of the meeting” remained unclear, the AP reports. Ahtisaari to attend Security Council session Kosovo's President Fatmir Sejdiu is expected to attend the session, while Serbia’s prime minister Vojislav Kostunica’s participation was confirmed today. Meanwhile, Ghana’s ambassador to Serbia said his country’s position on the Kosovo issue was clear, and called for strict adherence to the UN Charter. “Formally, our position is in line with the UN Charter, which states that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of every member state must be respected, and Serbia is a UN member,” Nyaho Tamakloe, whose country is a Council member, told a Belgrade daily. Tamakloe also said Ghana opposed the 1999 bombing of Serbia since it believed, “and continues to believe”, that it was “not in line with the UN Charter.” Beside the five permanent UN Security Council members, Belgium, Congo, Ghana, Indonesia, Italy, Panama, Peru, Qatar, Slovakia and South Africa also have a seat.
