Before the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia the port of Ploče was built mostly thanks to Bosnia-Herzegovina's investment and was an important port for the country.
Bosnian and Croatian officials also discussed a number of issues between the two neighboring states.
Sanader stressed that "Croatia is absolutely interested in a solid and stable Bosnia-Herzegovina" and promised Croatia's full support for Bosnia's progress towards the European Union and NATO.
"Bosnia-Herzegovina's membership in the EU and NATO is of strategic importance for Croatia," he told reporters.
During his three-day visit to Bosnia, Sanader was also due to meet with the members of Bosnia's tripartite state presidency, Sarajevo's Archbishop Cardinal Vinko Puljić and representatives of Bosnian Croats.
