Families commemorate Štrpci abduction

The Montenegrin town Prijepolje will hold a silent procession today to mark the day of the event. The Fund for Humanitarian Law and the Sandžak Board from Novi Pazar have issued press releases saying that the lack of proper punishment of perpetrators of the horrific act in Štrpci is worrying to the extent that it suggests that such actions could happen again.

Even though the Prijepolje Municipal Assembly decided to build a memorial two years ago, the decision has not yet been carried out nor has the monument been erected.

The six-year-long trial launched in the aftermath of the Štrpci’s bloodbath has so far resulted in the sentencing of Nebojša Radisavljević. As many as 30 other perpetrators remain at large.
