Zvornik trial continues
First accused Branko Grujić, former president of Zvornik’s temporary administration, and second accused Branko Popović, former Territorial Defense commander, have pled not guilty on the charges of having on June 26, 1992, forcibly moved 1,822 Muslims from the villages of Kozluk and Skočić.At the start of the process, on November 28, 2005, they denied having had the knowledge of but not undertaking any action to stop the crimes that took place in Čelopek, where, in May and June 1992, members of the so-called Yellow Wasps (“Žute Ose”) paramilitary unit killed at least 19 of the 163 detained and abused Muslims from Divič.
They also denied similar charges pertaining to the deaths of at least three Muslims in two other locations.
The unit’s members Dragan Slavković, Ivan Korać i Siniša Filipović also denied their involvement in the executions, while the sixth accused Dragutin Dragičević chose not to enter his plea.
