“We have discovered women and children under 14 years of age among the victims”, Mustafić said. He added that a third of the site has not yet been explored and that the experts believe they will discover over 1 000 bodies.

Mustafić said that this was the largest mass grave discovered in Bosnia so far. Until now the mass grave in Crni Vrh, located northeast of Zvornik, was considered to be the largest, containing the remains of 629 persons.

The Kamenica mass grave is the eighth secondary site discovered in the area. The experts have exhumed the remains of 1 000 victims from the previous seven, killed in July 1995, after the Bosnian Serb forces entered Srebrenica.
