Sarajevo reacts positively to Tadić visit

Even though none of the questions that exist between Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina were addressed yesterday, the reactions to Tadić’s visit heard on the streets of Sarajevo were significantly different than what was heard in the past.

Tadić is the first Serbian President who ignored protocol and walked through the streets of Sarajevo, talking to people without being immediately attacked with accusations of war crimes and supporting destruction, calls for forgiveness and for taking responsibility.

Tadić said that he left Sarajevo with very positive experiences and a hand full of souvenirs bought in Sarajevo stores.

The political opinions Tadić brought to Sarajevo yesterday were praised and very well accepted. He said that he supports unity within Bosnia-Herzegovina, and that Belgrade wishes for Bosnia-Herzegovina to resolve all of its political questions through its institutions without resorting to the destruction of the federation.
