PODGORICA -- Filip Vujanović has sent a letter asking for Montenegro to be accepted into the United Nations.

Vujanović added that Montenegro will continue to follow the guidelines of the UN charter and its principles. Attached to the letter to Annan was a copy of the Declaration of Montenegrin Independence, which was adopted by the Montenegrin Parliament on June 3.
