Vučić: "We are opening TENT B1 block, so that we do not have to import anything"

"We are opening a block of 650 megawatts, TENT B1, we will have a lot of electricity, enough for all needs, not to import any megawatts, and we will collect a little, to have in reserves," he said, answering questions from journalists, after attending marking the beginning of the construction of the Danube Corridor.

Today, we have another 190 million cubic meters of our gas in the Banatski Dvor reserve, and the Russians, he says, have 170 million.

"We will see what we will do about gas, but you could see that we helped the surrounding countries. It is a serious topic and there will be a big fight in Europe and the world around that topic," Vucic emphasized.

He also said that he believes that the green agenda is very important. "People want clean air and clean drinking water," the president said, adding that energy security was crucial. He said that it is first necessary to provide energy security, warm homes and electricity, and then to fully dedicate ourselves to the green agenda. He said that "he's not a fool to say that we'll cancel the use of coal in five years".

"We have to introduce gas because of our companies. Imagine how Zijin Copper would work for us, how Smederevo Ironworks would work, if we didn't have electricity and gas. How? And those are our biggest exporters and they employ over five and six thousand people," he said.

President pointed out that China bought liquefied gas and coal in order to guarantee the energy security of its country, and it is similar with lithium mines.

The Open Balkans is working to reduce barriers, and thus borders

The Open Balkans is an extraordinary initiative that works to reduce any barriers, and thus to abolish borders, so that people can travel freely, trade, and there is a free flow of capital and services, President of Serbia emphasized today.

Responding to a request to comment on Edi Rama's statement for Deutsche Welle that it is important that it was accepted at yesterday's meeting that there are no borders between Albania and Kosovo, he said that he was sure that Rama did not say that exactly.

"I was present. If Pristina enters the Open Balkans, and our goal is that there are no barriers among us, it could be said that there are no borders between some who have state status," Vucic explained, adding that the Open Balkans brings great benefits to the whole region.

He pointed out that these are stories that are used for the internal Albanian purposes.
