NATO "not considering withdrawing KFOR from Kosovo"

The NATO chief was replying to a journalist's question about his view of "some Pristina officials' statements about the presence of KFOR being an obstacle to formation of the army of Kosovo."

"We will monitor this, and this is not on the agenda now, we are constantly monitoring the situation on the ground, so now the emphasis is on the need for KFOR to continue to be in Kosovo," Stoltenberg told a press conference held ahead of a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.

When it comes to the Kosovo Security Forces, Stoltenberg said that he has already on several occasions pointed out that any change in the mandate of this formation "must be conducted in accordance with the Kosovo constitution and must be done based on the provisions of that constitution."
