"EU army pact" officially launched

EU members have officially launched "a new era in defense cooperation with a program of joint military investment and project development," Tanjug is reporting.

"EU army pact" officially launched

Among those who stayed away are Britain, which is leaving the EU, and Denmark.

EU foreign and security policy chief Federica Mogherini said that "countries have already submitted more than 50 joint projects in the fields of defense capabilities and military operations."

According to Mogherini, PESCO is financed from the EU defense fund, and will "enable member-states to use the economy of scale of Europe and in this manner to fulfill the gap of output that we have."
