Ivica Dacic this week traveled to Cuba to participate in the 22nd session of the Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS).

He "stressed the importance that Serbia attaches to cooperation with the ACS and put forward a proposal for further promotion of mutual cooperation with the agreed objectives," the Serbian government announced, citing an MFA statement.

He also "stressed that it is necessary to determine the areas in which cooperation could be further expanded," and that Serbia "implemented reforms in order to accelerate the European integration process."

Soomer "expressed gratitude to Dacic for participating in the session," and "emphasized the role of the ACS in the creation of peace in the Caribbean region, and stressed the importance of the principle of resolving all outstanding issues with the legal means and presented the head of the Serbian diplomacy with programs and projects that promote the ACS."

They agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between Serbia and the ACS in order to improve cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the statement said.
