Bosnian Presidency to hold special meeting on Thursday

This comes after the Bosniak (Muslim) member of the Presidency, Bakir Izetbegovic, announced that Bosnia-Herzegovina would request a revision of the genocide lawsuit against Serbia.

In 2007, the ICJ ruled that genocide had been committed in Srebrenica, but that Serbia was not guilty of participation or complicity.

Ivanic, who represents Serbs, on Monday told reporters in Sarajevo that the session was "the last attempt at sending the case back to legal institutions," and eliminate parallel political decision-making.

Ivanic said it was going to be a very important session, and that the presidency had to make a clear decision regarding the review, because Bosnia's long-term stability and institutional viability would depend on it.

The chairman said that not a single state institution had discussed the appeal, making it very clear that there was a parallel structure in Bosnia, rallied around Izetbegovic, which is pursuing its actions despite warnings.

Also on Monday, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced that he would meet with representatives of the Serb Republic (RS) government and of the opposition in the Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday at the latest, to discuss to move to launch a review of the ICJ ruling.
