EU influenced Haradinaj's release, says president

Under such relations, he continued, "there will not be justice for the innocent Serb victims of the crimes committed by Albanians."

The court in Colmar on Thursday released Haradinaj from custody pending a decision on Serbia's extradition request, and banned him from leaving the country until that time.

Haradinaj, a Kosovo Albanian politician and former KLA commander, was arrested last week in France on a Serbian war crimes warrant. In his court appearance, he rejected Serbia's accusations as "political."

Serbia is suspecting him of committing crimes against Serbs and other non-Albanian civilians in Kosovo in 1998 and 1999, Beta has reported.
