He said he was "optimistic about 2017" and hopes his country would "continue to build, deepen and expand its partnership with Serbia."

This year's progress in reducing unemployment and boosting growth has laid the foundations for Serbia to become an even more prosperous nation, more attractive for investments, a force of peace and stability in the region and an even stronger partner of the U.S. and the EU, Scott wrote.
