so amer, are you implying that democracy is an acceptable solution so long as their is military might behind it? are you suggesting that in cases where mighty powers appose something that it is too bad for those poor souls who chose to excercise this democratic option? is democracy only for those who are part of the power fold or is it for everyone (just so long they follow the order of the mighty)?
sounds more like dictoatorship wrapped up in a leaf of democracy. remember you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig.
i guess you and yours actually do not support democratic notions and wish to impose your own dictatorships all the while pretending to be honest brokers of democracy.
please explain...

The fair result is clear as day. North Kosovo will be cut from the rest of Kosovo and it stays in Serbia. Albanians may cry and complain - as Serbs the loss of Kosovo - but that's the way life goes. You gain, you lose.

The claims of the EU & the USA that separation can't take place are the weakest claims in sorting out this problem. These claims are purely of dictative nature and not taking in consideration the higher principle of the will of people on the ground. This principle is the reason why Pristina finally has to agree on separation.

If there's any ethics and moral left in Serbian nation it will not abandon North Kosovo Serbs. If they do they admit themselves as the weakest team on Earth.

One day Serbia will be a member of the EU. This doesn't mean they are in kingdom of heavens, it's just a way to co-exist and co-operate with other states. Going for the separation of Kosovo delays Serbia's joining the EU but doesn't cancel it. This will not be a big setback because already today Serbia and the EU co-exist with many agreements.

The worst Serbia could do is to forget Kosovo Serbs. Before remembering that ordinary citizens of Serbia are very passive politically, and that there's no civil participation in expressing the will of nation I expected the citizenry to come out to streets to show their opinion (whatever it would be). But now is the time for citizenry to express itself.

What I say is not aimed against Albanians. Dividing Kosovo will give them peace.

too funny

pre 13 godina

This has to be the funniest news article this year. If Serbia decides that north Kosovo is under Pristina govt, and will no longer finance their activities, then the Serbs in north Kosovo will enact their OWN Serbian govt with the constitution of Serbia and I guess force Serbia to pay their salaries?

BTW, I hope you realise your masters in the west have already conceded it. The media is just preparing your lot for it. Obviously you are not ready yet but you will soon enough. Can't you see it already?
(Zoran, 19 March 2013 21:15)

Don't count on it Zoran, its your masters in Belgrade which have done the conceding, they failed in their attempt at creating a greater Serbia out of Kosovar territory! The media, is in-fact preparing the Serb population for the decision to be made public! OH, one more thing Zoran, did the Serbian media make available the fact that T. Nikolic also met with H. Thaci? He also extended his hand, for a handshake with Thaci's, just as was the case with B. Tadic! Keep dreaming!!!

The reason that the Falkland Islanders could hold a meaningful referendum is that they had a promise from the UK that the UK would support them in whatever they decided. Do the 3.5 municipalities have that? No foreign government has to (or would) deal with the locals in North Kosovo, they'll just put the pressure on Serbia to control them. If Serbia wants to give up on joining the EU, it's their decision to make.

LOL! Rocky, still taking those steroids I see. FYI, the Serbs in northern KiM had a democratic vote last year and 99.99% voted to remain within Serbia and want nothing to do with Pristina. Democracy at work my friend so forget about the north, you never had it and never will.

(Captain America, 19 March 2013 16:43)

You say that, but in reality you are pretty mad no one can do anything about this. The Serbs in Northern Kosovo i Metohija simply wont accept rule from the institutions in Pristina. The West will likely not take it as far as shooting civilians to get their way and the Serbs there simply are willing to take it that far if they have to.

And we seen the Albanian nationalists try it themselves. They have managed to cleanse and/or lock up Serbs below the Ibar in ethnic ghettos, but the Serbs in the north are too condensed in one area for Pristina to ever physically have their way.

Rocky

pre 13 godina

The time draws near H. Thaci, in these next few weeks, if the Serb rebels are unwilling to be a partner in finding a democratic solution for the reestablishing of the rule of law in northern kosova, then you will obligated by kosovas constitution to declare martial-law upon the region of northern kosovs & bring down this rebellious Serbian attempt to create a greater Serbia, at the cost of a substantial part of our sovereign territory of Kosova, which is internationally recognized by nearly 100 nations! Democracy does not allow for this, I would hope, that the government of Kosova has already had in place contingency plans drawn up in advance should the peace talks between Kosova & Serbia fail, and the Serbs don't end thier illegal rebellion within Kosova's territory! The democratic world has made it clear, they do not favor another outcome as in the case of Bosnia, where Serbia was in someways successful in the creation of a temporary demonic entity state the "RS", only for it to become a part of a greater Serbia in the future, something that was made possible thru Serbian perpetrated genocide & ethnic cleansing, against the Bosnia people during the 1990s! Mr. Thaci, this Serbian barbaric creation, must not be allowed to take form in a part of Kosovas territory as well. Mr. Thaci, you know well the Albanian history, it is written in our paper of suffering & with the ink of our blood! None of us, including you should forget the sacrifices made! If need be, it will continue!

Serbs in Kosovo don't realize that they have always been screwed by Serbia's government. Slobodan used them and the Kosovo myth to get into power then started killing Albanians. Now Albanians are mad at the Serbs, but since they can't get to the ones in Serbia they have only the Serbs in Kosovo to hate. We all know how this is gonna play out: a deal will be made and Albanians will take over. If they took over, as the Serbs claim, of the majority of Kosovo, you don't think they'll take over a little part of it? Without Serbia's support, Kosovo Serbs won't stay in Kosovo while the Serbs enjoy themselves living a dream at their expense.

From where? Certainly not from south of the Ibar. You tried that in 2011. How'd that work out for you? Oh right, it didn't. Try to think of options other than genocide. I know it's hard for Albanians to do that without Western European coaching and someone else speaking on your behalf, but perhaps - just perhaps - the tired and worn out "do what we say or we'll unleash the mob on you" approach is what drives Serbs and basically anyone else whose ever come into contact with more than 10 of you at the same time to want nothing to do either with you or what you think is "law and order" :)

Actually that's almost every Albanian response to the barricades, Pristina or Cyberspace. It pisses you off to no end that people power can actually work against your cause, and the more you huff and puff, the more ridiculously belligerent you sound like. What makes it better is that you can only rely on KFOR to do what you want, and they're not going to do it. So not only do you sound ridiculously belligerent, you come off as comically impotent. Thanks for once again walking into two of your best known stereotypes :)

You must have learned this from Kosovo in ICJ which serbia got the answer. Even though ICJ said the declaration of Kosovo's independence was lawfull, serbs still dont understand it. Which bit you did not understand in ICJ answer to serbia so we can help you. And you still thing Kosovo with 95% Albanians did not have the right to decide for themself but you have the unsufficient knowledge to come and say 5% of serbs wants to change something againts 95%. "We hope that Serbia will not bring us to a situation where we will have to act," Ristić noted"

You're acting just fine Serbs. Acting like a bunch of fools! Set up some barricades and hangout or something. Just stop being annoying with your belicose language. You sound like the North Koreans when they get upset.

If need be, it will continue!

last year's referendum in which the citizens overwhelmingly rejected the Kosovo institutions (Pristina). The will of the people must be respected, it is the democratic way. The Falkland Islands just held a referendum on whether the citizens wanted to remain British citizens, they did. I cannot see the same exact right being denied the Serbs in Northern KiM. The are not a bunch of hypocrites, are they?

You must have learned this from Kosovo in ICJ which serbia got the answer. Even though ICJ said the declaration of Kosovo's independence was lawfull, serbs still dont understand it. Which bit you did not understand in ICJ answer to serbia so we can help you. And you still thing Kosovo with 95% Albanians did not have the right to decide for themself but you have the unsufficient knowledge to come and say 5% of serbs wants to change something againts 95%. Maybe that works in corrupted Serbia but I can assure you it won't work in Kosovo.

Speaking on Tuesday, Ristić said the join session was held in an effort to send a message that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija wish to remains citizens of Serbia, and that they intend to succeed at this, "regardless of the negotiations in Brussels".

If Serbia does not want you guys to remain Serbian citizens, than what?
The writing on wall has been since the agreement for IBM, but you guys are to blind to see it. Once Serb President and PM says that you guys are citizens of Kosova, which is in few days, we will see what you are going to do!!!
ops, don't forget Force 17(US combat troops coming your way soon)

Obviously,

the Serbs in the northern area will be sold by there own government just to get the EU-membership to feel as an european. The serbian nation and state is not willing to keep and fight together. They betray each other for some charity. This is the way a weak nation works and loose every respect. On contrary the Croation and Albanian nations: They fight together and they win together quite succesfull. Poor Serbia and shame on you government.

Four "municipalities is nothing more then 4 NEIGHBORHOODS.

There are more Serbs in Macedonia,Montenegro and Vojvodina and yet no word on municipalities campaigns there.

Ooops.......did I forget some lingering Serb settlers down South.......

Belgrade will abandon you when the choice between a better life in the EU for 6 million Serbs and supporting 60,000 Serbs in North Kosova without EU future.

We all know it's inevitable........

But I wish serbs have learn their lesson from Storm 1.0 and honour the agreement between Serbia and Kosovo.

You can flush your proposals down the toilet. Your Albanian islamists are not strong enough to have their way with the North, you tried and you failed in July 2011 in Mitrovica. You left with one less terrorist than when you came in, and didn't do jack about it!

Oh yes, you will accept Prishtina Governemt or pack your bags. Even the world had enough with you so i can not understand why Thaçi dont kick all those so called mayors and leave serbs live in peace. What a scum bags, got used for too long smuggling, trafficking and avoiding taxes.
(Dardania, 19 March 2013 16:17)

Am I dreaming? An albanian talking about smuggling and trafficking? If you look up the word albanian in the dictionary you will find similarities such as organharvesters, biggest heroin smugglers in the world and many many other "titles".
In fact Albania is the worst country in the world when it comes to criminals (and all other things aswell) drugsmugglers and organharvesters paradise Kosovo. Now Mr. Dardania, what was it you said?

MIke

pre 13 godina

(Mirel from Albania, 19 March 2013 15:35)

You sound like the North Koreans when they get upset.
(Captain America, 19 March 2013 16:43)

Actually that's almost every Albanian response to the barricades, Pristina or Cyberspace. It pisses you off to no end that people power can actually work against your cause, and the more you huff and puff, the more ridiculously belligerent you sound like. What makes it better is that you can only rely on KFOR to do what you want, and they're not going to do it. So not only do you sound ridiculously belligerent, you come off as comically impotent. Thanks for once again walking into two of your best known stereotypes :)

LOL! Rocky, still taking those steroids I see. FYI, the Serbs in northern KiM had a democratic vote last year and 99.99% voted to remain within Serbia and want nothing to do with Pristina. Democracy at work my friend so forget about the north, you never had it and never will.

Amer

pre 13 godina

The reason that the Falkland Islanders could hold a meaningful referendum is that they had a promise from the UK that the UK would support them in whatever they decided. Do the 3.5 municipalities have that? No foreign government has to (or would) deal with the locals in North Kosovo, they'll just put the pressure on Serbia to control them. If Serbia wants to give up on joining the EU, it's their decision to make.

too funny

pre 13 godina

This has to be the funniest news article this year. If Serbia decides that north Kosovo is under Pristina govt, and will no longer finance their activities, then the Serbs in north Kosovo will enact their OWN Serbian govt with the constitution of Serbia and I guess force Serbia to pay their salaries?
"We are going to be a part of Serbia whether Serbia likes it or not"

Olli

pre 13 godina

Dividing Kosovo will give them peace.

so amer, are you implying that democracy is an acceptable solution so long as their is military might behind it? are you suggesting that in cases where mighty powers appose something that it is too bad for those poor souls who chose to excercise this democratic option? is democracy only for those who are part of the power fold or is it for everyone (just so long they follow the order of the mighty)?
sounds more like dictoatorship wrapped up in a leaf of democracy. remember you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig.
i guess you and yours actually do not support democratic notions and wish to impose your own dictatorships all the while pretending to be honest brokers of democracy.
please explain...
