It is not as simple as that. In one area there is an established country - Serbia - which has opportunistic insurrectionists seeking separation, in the other area there are people who were born in their own country - Serbia - who are having their nationality stolen from them by an invading force that supports insurrectionists who have been persuing strong Albanian monoethnic ambitions for many many years.

The attempted argument for Presevo illustrates strongly who were the trouble makers in Kosovo. Be clear that Albanians were deliberately and premeditatedly driving out peaceful and well integrated Serbs long before Milosevic, and instead of insisting on a cure for the problem, the West have foolishly abused the humanitarian argument to reward those who wanted a racist separation into a separate state.

To be specific, they (US & EU) do not have the support to form a community and to get executive powers for Albanians in the South of Serbia, just as they will not allow this to happen for Serbs in the North of Kosovo. Simple as that..

Again, Presevo and Mitrovica can never be equal in a million years. When the Serbian army came to take down the monument they took it down and exercised their sovereignty. When ROSU occupying terrorists came to Mitrovica in July 2011 to force itself upon Northern Kosovo i Metohija, they were met with crushing defeat. So you cannot even compare the two.

Anyway, the U.S. will not help you in this case? Well we all know what happens when the U.S. doesn't assist Albanian terrorist aspirations.....just like in Presevo and Macedonia years back. You lose miserably.

Presevo albs can huff and puff as much as they want. Facts are: serbs are in control of Northern Kosovo, albs are not in control of Presevo. We saw what happend with the terrorist alb monument and we saw what happend to ROSU when trying to terrorize serbs in Mitrovica. Easy math except for the obvious idiot.

He points out that Albanians from the Preševo Valley came up with requests to get the same status as Serbs in northern Kosovo before but that they did not have the support of the international community, just like they do not have it now.

In other words you openly admit that Serbs in north Mitro have more rights than any other minority in the world. So what more do they want?

To be correct, it's only the US that's opposed to an assembly with executive powers. The EU is either indifferent or supportive of that. And since it's the EU that decides the outcome of these talks, Serbia will get something close to what it wants because that's part of the negotiating process. Presevo is part of Serbia. No one disputes that and no one will pressure Serbia to give any more than it has generously given. Kosovo is an international subject. Presevo is not. Simple as that.

The Serbs in the north and not a minority since they are not part of Kosovo's wretched political system. The rights the enjoy are the freedoms from being not under Pristina's authority. No one can say the same rights apply to those Serbs south of the Ibar.

I think the time has come for serbia to feel the pain. If serb politicians were clever this could have been avoided but now live with it. Well done to Albanians in Preshrvo valley. Serbs in Kosovo lived in Serbia and despite belgrades Actions still do not accept any role for pristina in their lives because of their former status as residents and citizens of serbia. presevo Albanians were not residents of an independent Kosovo and are residents and citizens of Serbia not Kosovo.

IMHO the West didn't act foolishly, it acted in the most convinient way for itself. Cure of the problem is difficult, expensive, it requares resources and efforts, while establishing of racist separate state is much cheeper populist solution.

Also Albo must count new school with packing back to Sicily.

IMHO the West didn't act foolishly, it acted in the most convinient way for itself. Cure of the problem is difficult, expensive, it requares resources and efforts, while establishing of racist separate state is much cheeper populist solution.
