After all is said and done, the bottom line is USA-NATO needed a military foothold in the Balkans, and Serbia was ripe for them to pick on in 1999. So, the law of the jungle took precedence and out of the ashes of NATO's 78-day bombing campaign there arose USA's Camp Bondsteel, not all that far from Urosevac. In order to get that huge military base, USA-NATO prostituted themselves to Albanians. Today we question Ivica Dacic about what's being splashed all over the West's media, i.e. to the effect that Kosovo is lost. Well, if Dacic agrees that easily about Serbia's province of Kosovo, then there is no hope for any of us on this planet, including those who chose to bomb for their own selfish interests.

Funniest comment all day....only someone that has never been there could even possibly think that such silliness

Only if Albanians in Presevo Valley get the same. This is the only fair solution. Same status for serbs in Kosovo and Albanians in Presevo.

In reality Dacic is asking for another Trojan Horse like Republika srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
(Poldi, 8 March 2013 02:08)

You don't know what a trojan horse is. The peace agreement in Bosnia and the RS is what the West wanted and planned for and made everybody sign. It was clear and in broad daylight from the beginning, nothing hidden at all, even though the West has been trying everything possible to undo Dayton since the day it was signed. Time for you to brush up on the Greek tales.

"How come various regions across Europe and the world can have executive competencies and this only represents a problem in Kosovo? This is completely unacceptable for Serbia" said Dačić.

I agree with Dacic here. Not just the Serb municipalities, but all municipalities in Kosovo should have executive power within their own territory. For example, they should have their local police with the Kosovo's national police only dealing with crimes that affect more than one municipality. The closer the police is to the community, the better the policing is.

Great idea, but it ain't gonna happen. The Albanians have the stronger hand, I'm sorry to say. The only way for Serbs to gain official control of North Kosovo is to agree to give the Presevo valley to the Albanians and make it part of Kosovo as it was originally. Also, most of the North was not part of Kosovo at one time but, was made so in order to change the demographics in favor of Serbia. We all saw how well that turned out.
It is time for Serbia to cut its losses and officially recognize Kosovo as a soverign State, otherwise it will have to wallow in its 19th century mindset, isolated from the rest of Europe. I'm sorry to have to say this publically to my fellow Serbs, but it is time to wake up and smell the kaffe.

Judging from Albanian comments, they simply don't get the concept of any rights for any one except themselves. Every non Albanian minority on Kosovo is under threat, not just Serbs. This has been proved over and over again. If Pristina refuses to leave the 19th century, them they are the ones too loose. Belgrade had gone the extra mile. Pristina simply says 'No' to everything. You can't buy better negative propaganda. But don't worry, Albanians are screwing up in Macedonia too.

Your asking for minority rights that no minority has in the world has. It cannot happen. Serbs in south Kosova have integrated and are happy in Kosova and are working side by side with Albanians, living happily together.
(KOSOVA, 7 March 2013 20:33)

LOL next time you get a ticket to travel to Kosovo, why not ask some of those Serbs what they really think? I've been there enough to know what you believe is far from what they think and I'm pretty confident they'd be happy having RS status give to them since Pristina doesn't know a damn thing to do with them :)

Dacic is really saying two different things to two different audiences, saying whatever they want to hear. Shame, since this is what the last government got booted for and so the cycle continues.

Brian

the goal of serbia was made clear in that kosovo is like bosnia to them and they want serbs of kosovo to have a lot of power like in kosovo like serbs in bosnia do. Less than a republic but as serbia will have no involvement in kosovo at all it is negotiating that serbs there have a lot of power because belgrade will have none. Kosovo serbs can do this I'm sure by themselves so I don't see why belgrade is involved in these discussions anymore.

KOSOVA

What part of no RS do you not understand? Look at the Bosnian government - it's one of the worst in the entire world. They cannot get anything done!

better to lose the North totally than to have them have executive powers. nowhere in the world do you have 8% of the populatuion, rule over 92%. its undemocratic in principle. what serbia wants, now that it sees it can't possibly have Kosova is a hand in its sovereignity, it must never be allowed. if it comes to a deadlock, just give up the North, it really is that simple
