Stop lying to your people Ivan Mrkić. If that was true how come Vojvodina hasn't the same.

Liaison offices just euphemism for ambassador! This is just a fact. And The office will say republic of Kosovo. Serbia has completely and totally recognized the independence of Kosovo. Seems like their is nothing the Serbian government is nnot doing to recognize it! They are collecting customs! Sending and receiving ambassadors. Wake up all those who say it's not recognition!

I know you wet your self at the thought, believe me I know. This is really the only theme to any post you make. Thing is, yes I am against this liaison b.s. as most Serbs are. But this isn't cementing a damn thing. Until the KLA get a seat in the UN, EVERYTHING is subject to change depending on what gov't is in Belgrade. So as you can see, you can't really say you are INdpendent if you are A. dependent on Belgrade's treason and corruption and B. dependent on Western handouts and support...not very independent at all.

And no, nowhere will it say "republic of kosovastan" in Belgrade. Some random will just have an office at the EU's building in Belgrade and a lucky Albanian will work in the capital of the country he lives in.

Or you know...you can keep saying the same 3 things you say in every post until you actually believe it, that's cool too.

Brian, give it a rest. Why are you so intent on Pristina having an Albanian representative in Belgrade, do you think that that makes Pristina's UDI, official? We can call these liaisons anything we want, but the fact remains, does Serbia recognize an independent Albanian State on its southern province? No, Serbia does not. The tides are changing, and independent Kosovo Albanian State seems to be off of the agenda for Serbia's EU talks. Like many folks stated just a year ago that things were written in stone, it appears that those stones are softening. Kosovo Albanians had their chance since 1999, but they waited for the West to save them, now they are losing their chance. I do not see an independent Albanian Kosovo in the future, am I wrong? The West is certainly not pursuing that anymore.

Oh, who gives a rat's ass what the Albanians put on their office door? Fact remains, Belgrade has not recognized officially an independent Albanian state on it southern province. IMHO, I do not seeing happening any time soon, if ever. Serbia will get its EU talk date this year, I am sure. On the other hand, can anyone honestly say that Albanian run KiM is EU material? Even the Albanians in Albania placed a wedge in EU membership themselves this year, must to the EU's chagrin. Can you imagine how the EU feels about an Albanian run Kosovo in the EU? Personally, I could give a rat's ass. I feel sorry for KiM's Serbs, still living amongst majority Albanians. But as for Kosovo, it's a hell hole, and no where near EU standards. If Albanians rule KiM, it will never be EU material, jusr ask the West what they think of Albania.

"Previously, the foreign minister in the government in Priština, Enver Hodzaj, said that agreement had been reached for what he referred to as "the office" that will be opened in Belgrade to be called the office of the "republic of Kosovo"."

Makes sense. Since the whole Kosovo project is EU sponsored, why should the 'office of the Republic of Kosovo' (located in an EU building) be any different?

Mrkić also stated that the person in question "cannot have any title other than 'liaison officer'."

When UNMIK was governing Kosova, we had Liaison Office from different countries. When Kosova declared CDI,all those offices turned into Embassies.
Just a thought!

Serbs can tell themselves whatever it is necessary to make them feel better. We all know that 5 years ago we weren't talking about independent Kosova. Now that's done and more than majority of the countries have recognized it. I have to admit it we have come along way despite the fact we have been facing the worst kind in this world.

I think Pristina does not understand the difference between having office space in a building, and having the office of. This exchange of liaison officers is good. Serbians and Albanians, unfortunate for both ethnicities, lice side by side, and will have to learn to get along. It's a matter of geography, one which no one can change, despite the attempts at ethnic cleansing both sides have tried/trying to do.
