Diaspora urges changes to citizenship law

Romania has no problem with Dual citizenship, like most countries.

What is Romania's stance on double citizenship?

I don't believe the law needs changed.
I'm a diaspora Serb who received citizenship through Article 23 of the Law on Citizenship. The law itself is fine and just. I just think the process of making decisions under the law should be sped up.

Serbs from around the world shouldn't have difficulty in settling in Serbia providing their reasons are 'sound'.

The situation in the U.S. has changed during my lifetime (one of my grandfathers had to renounce Canadian citizenship in order to keep his American citizenship after he became an adult), and it still seems strange to me you can be expected to be loyal to two countries, but the law is the law, and now there are now American double-citizens. So be it.
