U.S. official believes Israel will attack Iran soon

U.S. Defense Minister Leon Panetta believes that Israel will attack Iran in April to stop Tehran from building a nuclear bomb.

If I am not mistaken,this is the third time that Panetta makes a statement that Israel will attack Iran.Obviously his comments are not accidental and it just confirms that some people in the West in leadership positions are psychopaths and mentally ill monsters who are determined to cause millions of deaths and misery on their way to another monumental failure.What Panetta doesn't say is why attack Iran which hasn't got a nuclear programme or nuclear weapons and has signed the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty as opposed to Israel and Pakistan which both have nuclear weapons,programmes and haven't signed the NNPT.

Panetta also knows that Israel is not capable of starting a war against the Iranians.This will be war which will be fought by the US and Britain against Iran at Israel's behest. It has little to do with Iran's nuclear programme, and everything to do with causing chaos in the wider Middle East and eliminating the last true ally of the Palestinians.The result of this war will be exactly the same as in Iran and Afganistan.

Leonidas, Should Israel attack Iran, which is a stupid move, I believe it is out of fear for a nuclear weapon. It is very common knowledge that the first use of a nuclear weapon produced by Iran will be on Iraeli soil.
They also aare counting on the US and UK and others to come to their aid, I am hoping they are mistaking. Should Israel be attacked first that would be different, but if they are the first to attack they need to be able to finish what they start.

It is a Presidential election year and surprise, surprise, Netanyahu is up to mischief. I think he wants to force Obama into a tougher stand but I doubt Obama will take any military action. Obama's voters are not interested and a new war would wreck the tentative economic recovery, e.g. higher gas prices. Panetta is getting this out to gauge public reaction. The American people are finally fed up with war : that's the general reaction. Without the US, Israel can't do much. Obama won't go in. But if the Republicans win? Lots of mischief ahead. If there is an "incident"....

First and foremost, Leonidas doesn't know what he's talking about. Iran has a nuclear program and they are developing it. They have admitted it themselves!! In order for Israel to continue as a nation it needs a preemptive strike on Iran. Iran has threatened to wipe Israel off the map, if you were an Israeli, would you wait to find out? I think not! Iran is a fascists radical Muslim country, bottom line, like it or not. Iran needs to be stopped before it develops a nuclear weapons. It's hard to negotiate with a radical Muslim who believes if he dies he goes to haven, Iran won't care if a nuke kills it's population, in their mind they will have a first class trip to heaven. They need to be stopped!! And trust me, it won't be like Iran or Afghanistan, it will be more of a non stop air campaign from both the USA and Israel. After Iran embarrassing the USA, they can't wait to get in there for pay back!

Yes it is developing nuclear power for civil purposes, but how do you know that Iran has a nuclear bomb-building program? What TV has told you?
You do recall the weapons of mass destruction that Iraq was developing? Don’t you? Then the other lies told to the world???? Do you recall Colon Power showing the UN SC satellite photos of the bomb building sites??????? Then it turns out that he made a first class fool out of himself.
Regardless of what you may think about radical Iran its leadership is not mad or stupid; it saddens me to say that I think that their leadership is saner than anyone in Washington.
Iran is completely different to either Iraq or Afghanistan as it can defend itself and it takes more than just a bombing campaign to subdue that country. Iran can attack and destroy oil loading facilities in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait; it can destroy tankers carrying oil and what is most important it can stop the production of oil in the Middle East. Plus it has a leadership that is very determined as you saw during the war with Iraq.
For Israel to attack Iran then it had better prepare for many heavy casualties as any aggression against Iran will give Iran the right to retaliate and it will do so. It would be very interesting to see this non-stop aerial bombing by the US as Iran is better armed than even Serbia was prior it being attacked in 1999. If the US get involved in this war then your country will go into poverty on an even greater scale and speed.

It's not about a war, but about an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities by Israel. In case you don't know, Israel's air force did something similar some years ago (bombing some alleged plants) and caused a delay of the Iranian nuclear program for some years.
