but they have to go through the motions of pretending they actually care when in reality they wish they could forget about the squabbling and stop handing out free money to stop certain parties returning to war. BS from top to bottom. Brussels standard practice.

Aleks,

Then, what is preventing the EU from doing so, if they really don't want to financial aid. Serbia should be grateful

"The Commission will continue to assist Kosovo. We are setting aside serious aid. Today, Kosovo is getting the highest aid per capita," Barroso said.

Maybe some of the 'indipindent' Kosovarians will keep this in mind.

"He pointed out, however, that Kosovo needs to help itself in order to meet its "EU integration goals". "We are here to help you, but it is up to you to ensure steps forwards, in the fight against corruption, in reform, in rule of law. You need to do this yourselves," the EC president underlined.

Wise words! But And what do they do in Kosovo? Elect the same corrupt leaders again, vote for parties that advocate a 'greater Albania', fake elections Kosovo is so far away from any European standard.

This is all meaningless. There is absolutely nothing new in this Balkans PR tour. In effect it is a free ego massage given by Brussels to each party to make them feel better. These Eurocrats would rather not have come at all to the Balkans as they have other much more important things to do (?) but they have to go through the motions of pretending they actually care when in reality they wish they could forget about the squabbling and stop handing out free money to stop certain parties returning to war. BS from top to bottom. Brussels standard practice.
