I live in the USA. On December 25th I do not work or go to school. But when its January 7th I also take the day off and its fine with everyone.

What exactly is the problem in Sandzak. Am I supposed to expect the whole country to take a day off on a holiday that is not important for them?

Coming from the same people who entirely made up a name for the language they speak. And for political correctness its allowed. In the country I live we speak English not "Americanish" because that is obviously insane. Even the biggest Tea Bagger in the USA would not suggest something as foolish as that.

...Only in the Balkans

Zuko gets all bent out of shape when an Islamic school is appropriated by the state for a kindergartern but then gets more secular than Mustafa Kemal when St. Sava's Day is commemorated. Methinks the mufti doth jest.

This is exactly why so many European countries are becoming more nationalistic and putting a halt to immigration. I live in Canada. It's a Catholic country. I'm not Catholic. I celebrate my traditions with my family however never even once stood up and protested their heritage, traditions or religion. I know that I have the freedom to leave if I don't like it. As does this character.

makes me wonder why on darwin's green evolved earth, i've taken christ-mas and the eve of christ's-mas off, or adopted one of my favorite days off, the good-ole day of turkey deliciousness known as thanks-giving, or even veteran's day. i don't celebrate the mas of christ, nor was any of my linage around to rape and pillage from indians only to celebrate it later with super awesome food, and not one of my family were involved in fighting along side america to save the free world from german tyranny. yet, i take these days off, i relax, enjoy my time away from work. i wish people their happy holiday and leave it at that. i don't care what they celebrate, as they don't care what i do. i'll eat the tasty food, drink some yummy wine, spend time away from work and enjoy my time in this great secular nation that celebrates the birth of the chirstian deity with a national set of holidays. yeah, that's right even the banks are closed on this one.
is it that necessary to stir the muff-tea pot? let it go. celebrate a day off. period. take labor day off, even though you don't work, i don't know, but there has to be a bit of common sense and compassion. one would expect such things from a holy man.

just like many of my fellow class mates growing up who followed a faith that forbid them to salute the flag, or any other religious actions they would leave the room and wait in the hall. if these parents are so worried, they can keep their children home from school that day. they can send them to school. they have a choice to participate or not.

Serbian government should immediately outlaw and ban ramadan.

Ramadan is OK, of course, I am sure you said this as "ad absurdum". But Serbian government should immediately outlaw wahabbism and sever diplomatic ties with Saudi Arabia - and I am saying it seriously.

This is a rare case when I would enforce the visa regime to the maximum (i.e. visas approved only as an exception).

Serbian, EU, US, RU citizens can't get Saudi tourist visas at all. Why should we be more generous to them? We can miss the money belonging to wahabbi madman. Visas should be given only after strong background check to people who deserve them from our point of view.

If Zukorlic does not like that - he can move to Saudi Arabia and he won't be missed even by majority of Serbian muslims.

Maybe St Sava in Serbia is April Fools Day in islamic culture and this guy is just joking. I can't imagine any other reason for someone protesting a national Christian holiday in a Christian state except as a joke.

Serbian government should immediately outlaw and ban ramadan.

Strictly speaking, he HAS a point, as religion is the role of parents and families, not the state. But, he's being way too cynical about it. Experiencing other cultures and religions is how we remove the barriers for racism and oppression, not by blindly avoiding it.
