It's a funny thing to be proud of - having a passport that makes it easier for governments to spy on you.

Personally, I'll lobby against if/when they start making Canadians take out biometric passports or, at the very least, make sure I don't have one until the last possible minute.

It is good news that new passports are being issued to comply with international standards. However I have suggestion to make – cut out the bureaucracy that your citizens have to go through when living abroad so that they do not have to wait 3 or 4 months for a new passport. Also by downsizing the amount of paperwork they have to produce at the embassy it will prevent a lot of heart ache for relatives in Serbia who have to rush about getting things citizenship certificates for their loved ones who live abroad. Making these changes to systems so that you provide a service to your citizens will of itself bring you closer to Europe.

"we are moving ahead of Europe"

I dont think so.

Fingerprint uploaded to Schengen/CIA-databases is already reality. Next development in this orwellian anglo-american surveillance/control hysteria will be DNA-info included in our passports and that is to commence very soon.

Welcome to €USSR! A role model for a new world order.
